I am really quite impressed by Sigweis at this price point for night vision binoculars with an infrared illuminator.
What's Included?
Quite a bit!...
Ease of Use
I never like reading a lengthy, complicated instruction manual when I get new electronics.
So I really liked that practically within minutes I was able to use the binoculars without having to refer back to the manual to figure out how to use them.
The one item that is not included are six AA batteries that power the binoculars. Not a biggie. I rather have them include all the other items they do then give me batteries which are easy and cheap enough to get.
All the buttons are self-explanatory and intuitive.
As soon as it got dark, I took the binoculars into my backyard to test the IR illuminator.
Below are photos with and without IR turned on.
In the darker photo, you can see a faint outline of the tree branches contrasting against the dark sky.
I only had to use IR Level 1 to get enough brightness to see clear details.
I couldn't get my dog to stay still in the backyard to get a good "wildlife" photo, so I went into the bedroom and shut the blinds and doors and turned off all the lights.
Unlike outside, it was much darker in the room so a photo without the IR was completely black.
With only using IR Level 1 it made a huge difference.
Transferring Image and Video Files
You can either remove micro sd card and use a card adapter/reader to transfer files to your computer or phone or simply use the supplied USB cable to transfer to a computer which is what I did on my Chromebook.
There are 4 resolution options for photo and 3 for video.
It's nice to have these options depending on what the end use is for...
Obviously, you'll want higher resolutions for publishing photos or uploading videos to the web, less if you just want to view them later for yourself and don't need a lot of detail.
Of course you will be able to take more photos and video on the lower settings which is helpful if you are unable to download the images and video for a longer period of time (i.e., out camping for multiple days) vs a day trip of hiking/hunting, unless you want to get a higher memory SD card than the included 32GB.
Photo:
Video (all @30FPS):
With the 32GB SD card you can record up to 2 hours and 38 minutes of video and up to 9999 3MP images.
You can also record both daytime (color) and night (luminous green and IR light) images and video.
A nice feature is that you are able to view your photos and videos from the binoculars viewfinder without having to download them first.
*What is IP56 Waterproof Mean?
The first Number (5) is the Solid Particle Protection Level defined as:
Complete protection against contact with live or moving parts inside the enclosure. Protection against harmful deposits of dust. The ingress of dust is not totally prevented, but cannot enter in an amount sufficient to interfere with satisfactory operation of the binoculars.
The Second Number (6) is the Liquid Protection Level defined as:
Water from heavy seas or water projected from jets shall not enter the binoculars in any harmful quantity.
These are a great pair of night vision binoculars with camera and video capability under the $250 price point for hunting, camping, night fishing, survellience, and evening bird watching (owls, etc..).
What we like:
Enhancements that would be nice would be to see is a rechargeable battery option and rubber padding on the grips.
Our recommendation is that if you are looking for night vision binoculars with a camera for photos and video in this price range, these can't be beat and are a great value.
