Birds that are the state bird for multiple states:

American Robin (Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin): The American robin is often considered a harbinger of spring. Its cheerful song and bright orange belly make it a familiar sight in gardens and parks.

Northern Cardinal (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia): The Northern cardinal is notable for its vibrant red color in males and its distinctive crest. It is also one of the few birds that sing all year round.

Eastern Bluebird (Missouri and New York): The Eastern bluebird is a symbol of happiness and is known for its beautiful blue plumage and cheerful song. It is often associated with open fields and meadows.

Western Meadowlark (Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, and Wyoming): The Western meadowlark is recognized for its beautiful, flute-like song. This bird prefers grasslands and is often seen perched on fence posts.

American Goldfinch (Iowa, New Jersey, and South Dakota): The American goldfinch is known for its bright yellow plumage during the breeding season. It is a late nester, often waiting until thistles and other plants have gone to seed.
